writes "Folks,
Apologises if someone else already sussed this one out and posted it, but I haven't seen anything so here goes...
Not being able to receive landline calls through the hub phone seems like a really stupid setup. However, over of the Hubbub site it mentioned that will was functionality BT were plannign to add to the web setup before the end of the year. So I got to thinking it might already be in the Thompson guts of the Home Hub. I've seen lots of comments about how the home hub config is accessible via telnet, but this is a command line interface, and not much help. There is a menu function in there answering a few questions but not much. But with a little looking around I found the setting.
At this point I have to state that any attempt to do this is taken at your own risk. I've seen too many comments about home hubs dying when people try to change even simple DHCP settings. These things do seem a little fragile, anyway, the following command will get your landline to ring on the hubs built in DECT base the hub phone uses as well as the phone port you can plug any of your existing kit into.
For the uninitiated, you can open a telnet session to your home hub by clicking on start, run, and typing "TELNET API.HOME" (without quotes)into the run field. This will open a session. Login using username ADMIN, and whatever your admin password is. (admin again is the default)
This will get you the {admin}=> prompt, enter the following command:
voice fxoport config incfxodest=all
Then exit the command prompt by typing "exit"
Grab your mobile and call your landline number!!
I personally don't have my hub phone through yet. Only got the hub a few days ago. I've registered my panasonics to the home hub built in DECT, but any incoming calls only get a ring for a split second. I'm hoping this is a compatibility issue, not an iffy hub. If anyone else has seen this let me know. I will add I got this behavior on incoming calls to my VOIP number before working the above mod out.
Good luck!!!
